Gerard Love & Jack Mellin - Second City Static 001
£2.00 - £9.99
Second City Static is a collaborative project between two Glasgow based DIY labels; Errol's Hot Wax & Watts Of Goodwill.
The loose plan is an irregular (quarterly, maybe) series of not for profit live shows at The Old Hairdresser's featuring two artists, with a split 7” single included in the price of the ticket (or a download card, if your music streams instead of spins).
Following the gigs, a limited number of singles will be available online via Bandcamp, Discogs, Errol's Hot Wax (errolshotwax.com), Monorail Music (monorailmusic.com) and any other stores that want 'em.
SCS001 features contributions from Gerard Love (Lightships, Teenage Fanclub) & Jack Mellin (Spinning Coin, L, among other good bands).
Gerard Love presents a home recorded cover version of "Summer Holiday" by the German group Seaside Stars. Although recorded in his kitchen a few years ago, it was mixed with Paul Savage at Chem19 & mastered by Samuel J. Smith of Green Door Studio in the summer of 2024.
Jack Mellin's song "Wild Light" features Chris White on drums and Simone Antigone on backing vocals. It was recorded & mixed by Chris White at Unit 15, Bridgeton and was also mastered by Samuel J. Smith. "Wild Light" is taken from "Very Sparrow", the debut album by The Mary Column (Jack Mellin & Friends) due around March 2025.
Sleeve Art & Centre Label Logo by Russel Elder.
This is a limited pressing of 500 7" singles, of which 200 have been made available for general sale.
